Man injured in road accident dies

TAMBARAM: A 34-year-old man died on Thursday, a week after he was injured in a road accident on Chennai Bypass near Tambaram.

Traffic police said Sivakumar, a civil engineer and resident of Bajanai Koil Street in Choolaimedu, was riding a motorcycle on Chennai Bypass along with his friend Vijaykumar on May 29. Near Tiruneermalai, he rammed the two-wheeler into a steel barricade and sustained injuries. Police said Sivakumar was admitted to a private hospital, where he succumbed to injuries on Thursday morning.
