26,220 cr. to be given as crop loans

Sangareddy: Minister for Cooperation Mohammad Fariduddin addressing a ‘Rytu Sadassu’ in Sadasivapet market yard on Thursday said that the State government would disburse Rs. 26,220 crore as agricultural loans for the year 2008-2009.

According to a press release he said that crop loans worth Rs. 23,900 crore have been given to farmers during last financial year.

He announced that the loan waiver would be applied to all loans taken between March 31, 1997 to March 31, 2007. He said that banks have been given necessary instructions about the extent of the loan waiver.

Horticulture Commissioner K. Madhusudan also spoke.
