“Save environment”

Protect earth: A campaign by students at Palayamkottai on Thursday.

TIRUNELVELI: Students of Florence Swainson Higher Secondary School for the Deaf, Palayamkottai took out an awareness and campaign rally here on Thursday in connection with World Environment Day.

The rally traversed new bus-stand, Perumalpuram, Maharaja Nagar, High Ground, Samathanapuram, Gandhi Market, South Bazar, Palayamkottai Bus Stand, Murugankurichi, Vannarpet, Tirunelveli Town, Exhibition Grounds, Tirunelveli Railway Junction, District Science Centre, Melapalayam and new bus-stand before reaching their school premises.

The children, attached to the Green Corps of the school, were holding placards urging the public to save environment.

The DFO, P. Ganapathi, inaugurated the rally and A. Selwyn Samuel, Department of Botany, St. John’s College, Palayamkottai felicitated.
