CHENNAI: Around 200 participants, including 24 in the women’s section, will take part in the KCG College of Technology-PAALAM State carrom championship at the college premises in Karapakkam, from June 6 to 8. The Rs. 1 lakh prize money tournament will have competitions in four categories — men’s and women’s singles, men’s doubles and veteran’s singles (above-45). Several internationals, including World champions, will feature in the championship. Varaprasada Rao, Vice-Chairman, Science City, Dept. of Higher Education, will be the chief guest for the inaugural function and Elizabeth Verghese, Chancellor, Hindustan University, will preside over the valedictory function.
