Award for veena player

BANGALORE: Kalpagam Swaminathan (84), veena player, has been selected for Veena Seshanna Memorial National Award, and the Rudrapatna Brothers, vocalists, have been selected for the Swara Murthy V.N. Rao Memorial Award.

The awards have been instituted by the Swarna Murthy V.N. Rao Memorial Trust.

They will be presented to the winners on July 20 at the Gayana Samaja here. The awards carry a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 each.
