On the Red Ribbon trail

PUDUCHERRY: As the Red Ribbon Express arrives at the Puducherry Railway Station on Saturday, six teams will travel to various villages to spread awareness of HIV/AIDS.

Chief Minister N. Rangasamy would inaugurate the Red Ribbon Express at 8.30 a.m. and Health Minister E. Valsaraj, along with MLAs and officials, would participate.

The teams would perform cultural shows at Periyapet, Pooranankuppam, Mathikrishanapuram, Madukarai, Sorapet and Saram at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday.

At noon, the shows would travel to Othiyampet, Thavalakuppam, Parikkalpet, Molapakkam, Vinayagampet and Muthialpet.

Spots at Kompakkam, Edaiyarpalayam, Bahour, Soora Mangalam, Sellipet and Solainagar would be the next stop for the cultural teams at 3.30 p.m., followed by performances at Murungappakkam, Nonankuppam, Selimadu, Eripakkam, Pillaiyarkuppam and Kamathchiamman Koil Street at 6.30 p.m.
