NAGAPATTINAM: The Centre has deputed an official from the Prime Minister’s Office to verify whether the tsunami-hit schoolchildren were getting education assistance from the Prime Minister’s relief fund. V. Official sources said children of standard I to X were getting a monthly grant of Rs.300 from the Prime Minister’s relief fund, and orphaned children were being paid more. K.S.
