Officials remove encroachments

ATTUR: A team of revenue officials had started removing the encroachments on the Attur Government Arts College premises near here on Friday.

A few persons had occupied huge portion of the lands belonging to the college and constructed concrete structures.

Students of the college, parents and voluntary organisations staged demonstrations and brought it to the notice of the senior officials on several occasions.

The college required lands for the construction of more classrooms and to create other facilities.

Following the repeated representation, the administration deputed a team of workers and earth movers to remove the encroachments.

Officials said that all the structures constructed by encroaching the college land will be removed.
