Man kills children, attempts suicide

NAMAKKAL: A man allegedly killed his two children by throwing them into a well before attempting to commit suicide in Senthamangalam near here on Thursday.

Police said Arunkumar (27) of Nachiputhur village threw his children Varshini (5) and Raja (3) before jumping into the well. On hearing the cries of the children, neighbours rushed to the spot.

They rescued Arunkumar and admitted him in Namakkal Government Hospital.

The Fire service personnel retrieved the bodies of the children. A case was registered.
