Workshop on kharif

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S. Arumugam will inaugurate a farmers’ development workshop-cum-exhibition, ‘Kharif 2008,’ here on June 11. Farmers from nine southern districts will take part in the programme.

The four-day workshop would deal with technologies such as post-harvest technology and food processing technology besides the basics of farm activities, said Collector, V. Chandrasekaran.

Over 70 stalls would be put up by several Government departments and private firms. Farmers from Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari will have an opportunity to interact with scientists and officials.
