Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: The loco pilot, assistant loco pilot and guard of the 6303 Vanchinad Express have been placed under suspension for lapses in duty. The Thiruvananthapuram-bound Vanchinad Express skipped the Chirayinkeezhu railway station and proceeded to the Perinkuzhi station around 10 a.m. on Friday. The train did not stop despite an alarm raised by passengers. Sensing the mistake, the loco pilot, O. Divakaran, took the train back to the Chirayinkeezhu station. Later, the train proceeded to Thiruvananthapuram Central. Mr. Divakaran, assistant loco pilot B. Nandakumar and guard R. Jayarajan had been placed under suspension pending inquiry. The Chirayinkeezhu station does not have a station master.
