Exodus from party worries Telugu Desam

Staff Reporter

Kakinada: The number of ‘fence-sitters’ in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is going up with actor Chiranjeevi is all set to float a party. A large number of leaders at the district and mandal level have deserted the TDP with the fond hope of finding a place in the glamour-smitten party for which the actor is reportedly doing his homework.

Jyotula Nehru, who was TDP district president for a long time, and several others bid adieu to the TDP with the objective of joining Mr. Chiranjeevi’s party and the exodus is showing no signs of abating. Meanwhile, TDP district president N. Chinna Rajappa, has stated in a press release that the party is permanently severing links with those who resigned to posts but wanted to continue as members of the party. The onus of keeping the flock together now lies on Mr. Rajappa who was made the party’s district president after Mr. Nehru’s exit. However, he is not prepared to persuade those desirous of leaving the party to stay back.
