BANGALORE: The students of Bishop Cotton Girls’ School, Surana Post-Graduate Centre and Renaissance Foundation, formed a human chain at Cubbon Park here to create awareness about the importance of conserving environment.

The World Environment Foundation (WEF), Bangalore, in association with the Institute of Directors (IOD), Bangalore Chapter, Maini Group, and Renaissance Foundation, organised “Proactivate” on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Over 120 students and the other participants pledged to keep the environment clean and unpolluted.

“In the olden days, we never had to pay for water. Now, it has become a necessity if one needs potable water. Our future generations need to be educated about the importance of preserving whatever remains of our environment,” he said.
