Woman killed

TIRUCHI: A woman was killed and five others were injured in a road accident involving a van and a car at Mahendramangalam near Thottiyam on Thursday.

The van carrying a group of people was on its way to Namakkal from Samayapuram when the car driver allegedly drove the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against the van. Six persons on board the van sustained injury. One of them P. Chellammal (55), of Namakkal district, died on the way to the hospital. The Thottiyam police have registered a case.
