Bangalore: Virender Sehwag pummelled a few before slashing one to point and as usual spoke his mind during the course of a Hero Honda corporate event at the St. John’s Hospital ground, here on Friday. Queried on the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) notice to him on his alleged comments about team selection, Sehwag said, “no comments” and when pointedly asked whether he was bothered by the issue, he said, “I am not worried about anyone.” Sehwag was in town to play a friendly match between selected Hero Honda customers from Uttar Pradesh. Sehwag’s team played against a Sunil Joshi-led team. Prior to that, there was laughter and applause all around as Joshi cut his 38th birthday cake. Sehwag, meanwhile, lauded the DLF-IPL’s opportunity-factor for youngsters. “It has been a good platform for under-19 cricketers and for domestic players it was good that they played in full stadiums. Players like Yusuf Pathan and Pragyan Ojha got noticed through the IPL. “Domestic cricket too has its values. In fact, when I got dropped from the Indian team I played domestic cricket to get back into the side,” Sehwag said. On the tri-series in Bangladesh and the Asia Cup in Pakistan, Sehwag said: “Looking forward to playing in international cricket. I have been playing at this level for the last eight years and I can adapt to situations. I am looking forward to the contests with Shoaib Malik with whom I played for Delhi Daredevils.” — Principal Correspondent
