Technology Day observed

Thiruvananthapuram: Seventy students from various higher secondary schools participated in a workshop on ‘Plant-based technology for sustainable development’ held here on Friday as part of the National Technology Day celebrations, jointly organised by the Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (TBGRI) and the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE).

Inaugurating the workshop, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests T.M. Manoharan stressed the need for increased participation of children in the field of science and technology. Director, TBGRI, S. Ganeshan presided over the meeting. Chief Conservator of Forests Trivedi Babu and TBGRI scientist S. Rajasekharan addressed the students.

Executive vice-president, KSCSTE, E.P. Yesodharan was the chief guest at the valedictory function.
