Three bodies fished out

MACHILIPATNAM: A day after the tragedy at Gilakaladindi beach near here that claimed the lives of six members of a family, the police fished out the bodies of a woman and two children on Friday.

Of the 14-member-family from Machilipatnam that went to the beach on a picnic on Thursday, six members, including two women and three children, were washed away in the sea. The police were able to fish out only three bodies and the search was stopped on Thursday evening following the sunset.

On Friday morning, the police resumed the search and fished out the bodies of Noorunnisa, 35, Roshini, 8, and Moin, 14. The bodies of the family head Gafoor Khan Razwi and his two relatives Afrin Begum and Jaheeda Begum were fished out on Thursday. An inquest was conducted on the beach. The Chilakalapudi police are investigating.

Rice mill seized

The officials on Friday seized a rice mill at Guntupalli near Ibrahimpatnam for hoarding rice stocks. Sub-Collector Gaurav Uppal said 215 quintals of rice was found at the mill whereas the miller was supposed to stock only 50 quintals.
