NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki has launched the new LPG variant of its popular model M800, priced between Rs. 2.05-lakh and Rs. 2.26 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Named ‘M800 Duo’, the new car will have dual fuel option of petrol and LPG. The M800 Duo will be available in two options — M800 Standard priced at Rs. 2.05 lakh and M800 AC at Rs. 2.26 lakh. Designed in-house by a team of 24 engineers, the Maruti 800 Duo works on the gas mixer system based on integrated gas technology which results in optimum performance and superior emissions. The environment-friendly LPG variant emits 10 per cent lower carbon dioxide (CO2) than the petrol variant. Being manufactured at the Maruti’s Gurgaon plant, the new car will be available in five colours. “Dual fuel vehicles have always formed a prominent part of our overall product strategy. Besides, the car is economical to drive and being factory fitted, it is completely safe,” said Maruti Suzuki India Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Mayank Pareek. The M800 Duo would be as successful as its two other dual fuel models of WagonR and Omni Cargo. The company has so far sold over 1.25-lakh powered by alternate fuels.
