Learning method impresses delegation

TAMBARAM: A delegation from Mizoram that visited government schools in Chennai and suburbs over the past two days has said it is impressed with the Activity-Based Learning method in place in primary schools.

The system would be followed in Mizoram from the next academic year.

The delegation included School Education Minister R. Lalthangliana, Director of School Education Malsawm Thangi and Lalhma Chhuana, Additional State Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

Speaking to The Hindu, Ms. Thangi said they had heard about the successful implementation of ABL in Tamil Nadu. She added: “It is excellent. We interacted with students, all able to understand English. Their confidence is amazing.”
