NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education declared the results of the All-India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examinations-2008 on Saturday evening. The exam was held in two stages -- preliminary and final. As many as 161,230 candidates had registered for the preliminary examination, of whom 22,014 qualified for the final. Based on the scores of the final examination, 1,776 candidates have been placed in the merit list and 1,642 in the waiting list. The candidates can access their result on www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in The first round of counselling will begin on June 13. The allotment of candidates to medical colleges will be made by the Directorate-General of Health Services according to the category rank only, said an official release. Candidates are required to report at the venue allotted to them as per their choice given in the application form and also as per the details given on the website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, www.mohfw.nic.in . Candidates who have not given any option for a counselling venue will have to appear for counselling in New Delhi only. Rank letters are being despatched to the successful candidates through Speed Post.
