Bandh total in Davangere

Staff Correspondent

DAVANGERE: Most shops, business establishments, cinemas, hotels, banks, schools and colleges in Davangere were closed on Saturday during the bandh called by different farmers’ organisations in protest against the shortage of fertilizers.

While the owners of most shops and business establishments voluntarily observed the bandh, cinema houses were forcibly closed down. The bandh was peaceful and incident-free. Meanwhile, 2,500 tonnes of fertilizer arrived in Davangere and the Agriculture Department has started distributing them through the Vyvasaya Seva Sahakara Sanghas.
