ESIC employees’ plea

MALAPPURAM: The Kerala ESIC Employees Union has appealed to the ESI management not to scuttle the present welfare scheme by stopping a few branch offices. The union protested against the management decision to close down the Angamali, Koratti, Thoppumpadi, Kalamasseri, Sasthamkotta, Kilikollur, Payyannur, Mavoor and Anjal branch offices under the Kerala region and degrade the Neyyattinkara branch office as a pay office. T. Chekkutty, State general secretary of the Kerala ESIC Employees Union, described the ESIC management move unscientific and against the interest of employees. –Staff Reporter
