BANGALORE: Even before the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project could come out of the controversy surrounding it, Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), promoter of this project, has decided to make a proposal to the new Government in Karnataka to allow it to take up four similar expressway projects in other parts of the State. Ashok Kheny, managing director of NICE, told presspersons after the swearing-in ceremony of Katta Subramanya Naidu as minister at Raj Bhavan on Saturday, that he would make a proposal regarding the four expressway projects to the new government in about a week. The four proposed expressways are Bidar-Bangalore, Raichur-Belgaum, Karwar-Bellary and Mangalore-Kolar. Mr. Kheny said he had decided to make the above proposal to the Government as he wanted to improve the connectivity to Bangalore from other important district centres in the State, besides the connectivity between the prominent district centres. He said the first phase of the BMIC would be completed in about three months while the entire project would be ready in about two years.
