TIRUCHI: Anand struck 47 as Southern Railway Institute scored a 47-run win over Gamblers CC to enter the quarterfinals of the H.H. Rajah of Pudukottai Mannar Memorial Trophy State-level T20 cricket tournament here on Saturday.

The scores: Pre-quarterfinals: Southern Railway Institute 144 for five in 17 overs (Anand 47, Franklin 32) bt Gamblers CC 97 for nine in 17 overs; Gemini CC 125 for seven in 20 overs (Sathish 34) bt Kaveri RC 83 in 17.4 overs (Dillon three for 13).

First round: Eleven Star CC 74 in 19.2 overs lost to Kaveri RC 78 for two in 9.2 overs (Yogesh 40 n.o.)
