Bangalore: The trio of Virat Kohli, Pradeep Sangwan and Tanmay Srivastav, winners of the Border-Gavaskar scholarship, along with Dhaval Kulkarni, the inaugural Dilip Sardesai scholarship awardee, sported wide grins at the National Cricket Academy here on Saturday prior to departing for Brisbane later at night. They will attend a six-week training program at the Centre of Excellence in Brisbane. Kohli exuded confidence. “It is a great opportunity for all of us. I have never been to the Centre of Excellence and I have heard so much about it. It’s a good chance for me to get used to the Australian pitches and their conditions and it will help me when I later play there for India ‘A’. I have spoken to previous scholarship winners like Shikhar Dhawan and he told me that it is a good learning process. I have also observed the way Suresh Raina evolved after his scholarship stint in Australia,” Kohli said.
