Staff Reporter

June 14 is the last date for submitting tenders

VIJAYAWADA: Auction for allotment of liquor shops in Krishna district will be held at the Collector’s office in Machilipatnam on June 16.

Those who want to participate in the auction to get permission to run liquor shops in the district for a period of two years from now can submit sealed tenders in the office of the Excise Superintendent in Machilipatnam before 5 p.m. on June 14.

Deputy Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise D.E. Prasad, in a statement here on Saturday, said that only one shop would be allotted to one applicant, notwithstanding the number of tenders he/she submits.

Mr. Prasad said that the tender forms were available at the offices of the Prohibition and Excise at Machilipatnam and Vijayawada. Of the total 335 liquor shops in Krishna district, 153 would come under Vijayawada unit, while the remaining 182 would come under Machilipatnam unit, he explained.
