Five hurt in LPG cylinder blast

Residents of the locality rushed out of homes in panic at the deafening noise


NANDYAL: Five persons were hurt and three houses were damaged in an LPG cylinder blast at Ammavarisala in Nandyal town in Kurnool district on Saturday.

According to reports, the blast occurred in the house of V. Satyanarayana, a bullion merchant, around 3 a.m.

Five members of the family who were sleeping in the house were hurt when the debris fell on them.

A domestic dog died in the incident. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital.

While Mr. Satyanaryana’s house was badly damaged, the two adjacent houses also suffered partial damage.

Leakage

The clues team, which examined the blast site concluded that the leakage of the cooking gas cylinder had caused the blast. The residents of Ammavarisala locality were jolted when the deafening noise rocked the area.Not knowing it was a cylinder blast, they rushed out of their homes in panic.
