KOZHIKODE: Top seed Nisha Mohota was held to a draw by K. Shruthi in the second round of the 35th National women’s ‘B’ chess championship at the Hotel Sana Tower, here on Saturday. In the day’s other upset, seventh seed Saimeera Ravi was humbled by S. Anushya. All the Woman Grandmasters except Nisha registered victories, though. Swati Ghate, Mary Ann Gomes, Eeesha Karvade and Aarthie Ramaswamy posted wins over Pallabi Roy, Aparajita Gothikar, P.K. Jayasree and Shikha Shah respectively. On the top board, Nisha, playing on the black side of a Colle Attack, signed the peace treaty with her lesser-known rival after 23 moves. Important results: Second round: K.
