Muzaffar, Wilson score hat-tricks

HYDERABAD: Hat-tricks by Muzaffar for Young Hyderabad and George Wilson for Coronation Club were the highlights of the ‘B’ division hockey league championship at the AOC grounds here on Saturday.

Winger Muzaffar scored four goals including a hat-trick to fashion Young Hyderabad’s impressive 6-0 win over Republic Boys Company, while Afsar Ahmed netted a brace to complete the tally.

In another match, George Wilson struck five times including a hat-trick to help Coronation Club record a 7-1 win over Cosmopolitan Club. Alister Edwards (two) was the other scorer for Coronation Club. For the loser, Somesh Yadav reduced the margin.

ATNK & K wins

Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala (ATNK&K) defeated Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa (MG & G) 42-29 in the final of the Southern Command handball championship at Artillery Centre (Golconda) here.

Earlier, ATNK & K put it across 36 Rapid Regiment, while MG & G Area got the better of 12 Rapid Regiment in the semifinals.

Easy for Bhavan’s CA

Bhavan’s Cricket Academy recorded a 48-run win over Rising Stars Cricket Club in the under-13 category of the fifth Paradise Persis Gold Cup cricket tournament here.

The scores: U-13: Bhavan’s CA 160 for three (Varun 56, Shubham 43, Janardhan 41) bt Rising Stars CC 112 for eight (Sai Teja 38, Vishak three for 12, Abhiram three for 20); Sarojini CFA 168 for three (Rohith 45, Sravan 75) bt Oxford CA 70 (Sunny five for 11, Varun three for 18).
