Serials on offer: New series of ‘Gold Rush’ has Udaya Bhanu as anchor. After a well tuned performance in the serial ‘Radha Madhu’ that won her all-round accolade, Mounika is back. She is playing the lead in the new serial ‘Sriram weds Janaki Raghuram’ that is on Zee Telugu and is teamed with Kaushik with Kota Shankar Rao and others in the cast. The family drama revolves around a doctor who returns home from the US and announces his desire to serve the poor and needy much to the father’s chagrin. In fulfilling the mission, he comes across the woman of his dreams but she has a past. But destiny has its own designs and brings back the past that she is in the process of forgetting. The drama unfolds as a triangle unfolds. The serial telecast from Monday to Thursday at 8 p.m. has a team of accomplished talent. Also, Zee Telugu has come up with an all new series of ‘Gold Rush’, the show hosted by Udaya Bhanu. The 30-minute all-women show offers gold for the participants and the challenge is to get 100 gms of the precious yellow metal by scoring in five different segments. The first edition of the show telecast in 2005 turned out to be a big success not only given the lure for gold but also some golden anchoring by Udaya Bhanu. She is back in the familiar role and the contest begins. With two golden gals of Telugu television on its schedule, Zee Telugu could be in for some good times. T. LALITH SINGH
