Official identity: Members of Kattunaicken community staging a demonstration in Tuticorin on Monday. Tuticorin: Workers of the Communist Party of India staged a demonstration in front of the Collectorate here on Monday. They urged the district administration to issue community certificates to entire people belonging to Kattunaicken community at Kuzhaivaikkal village under Srivaikundam taluk, without any further delay. A. Mohanraj, district secretary of the party, and S. Rajendran, former MLA, spoke. In another agitation held near the Collectorate, members of ‘Devendra Kula community’ demanded establishment of a statue of freedom fighter Veeran Sundaralingam at Kasilingapuram village.
