THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Twenty five players from Kerala, including a few Ranji Trophy stars, will train at the Australian Sports Gateway in Brisbane for six weeks. The exposure-cum-training trip will begin on Tuesday. The programme, funded by the Kerala Cricket Association, is aimed at grooming players for future. The 25 players were selected on merit on basis of the performances in the last season in various competitions. The players will undergo intense training to improve their fitness with emphasis on fielding. The players will be exposed to the state-of-the-art training facilities and the programme would take a holistic approach to improve the mental strength and skills of the players. There will be video review and sessions devoted to improving the techniques of the players. The Australian Sports Gateway is run by Brad Murphy, a level-3 coach with ACB and currently the Queensland Bulls wicket-keeping coach. He will be assisted by Baba Sourjah, Cameron Miers, Matt Turich in the programme. The Kerala Ranji Trophy coach Vedam Hariharan and Nick Speak will also be there to help the cricketers out. The Kerala Cricket Association secretary, T.C. Mathew, said that the total cost of the programme was around Rs. 50 lakhs and the KCA was planning to continue with the programme for another five years. Mohammed Sanuth, Deepak Murali, Raji Lal, Sachin Baby, Sanju V. Samson, Mohd. Nassef, Philip Joseph, P.M. Anfal, Akshay G. Kodoth, Deepan Raj, Akshay Chandran. Abhishek Mohan, Manu Krishnan, Saly V.
