Highlight people’s problems, TD cadre told

Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: TDP Polit Bureau member P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju has asked party cadre to highlight people’s problems and also the irregularities that they have observed in the implementation of various welfare schemes during the ‘Mee Kosam’ programme of party president N. Chandrababu Naidu in the district next week.

Speaking at the party district committee meeting here on Sunday, Mr. Ashok criticized district officials for showing discrimination in the release of constituency development funds sanctioned by elected representatives.

He said that it was not proper for officials to say that there were no grants for the sanctions made by TDP MLAs. Even in the past the officials had acted in a similar fashion when the late Kondapalli Pydithalli Naidu, Lok Sabha member from Bobbili sanctioned works, he added.

Party district president Y. Ramana Murty said that Telugu Mahila would stage protest demonstration against the new excise policy of the Government on June 12 and offer resistance on June 16 when tenders for liquor shops would be opened.

He also asked party men to take steps for proper enrolment of voters.
