Courtesy call: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa calling on the Archbishop of Bangalore Bernard Moras at his residence in Bangalore on Monday. He was accompanied by Excise Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu (centre) and H.T. Sangliana, MP, (extreme right). Bangalore: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has assured the minorities that the Bharatiya Janata Party Government in the State will do its best to ensure their welfare. Accompanied by several Ministers, Home Minister V.S. Acharya, the Chief Minister on Monday called on the Archbishop of Bangalore, Bernard Moras, and spent nearly an hour with him. During the course of the interaction, the Archbishop urged the Chief Minister to accommodate Christians in his Ministry, apart from providing fair representation to them in various boards and corporations. Law Minister S. Suresh Kumar, Minister for Excise Katta Subramanya Naidu, Minister for Medical Education Ramachandra Gowda, Bangalore North MP H.T. Sangliana and nominated Anglo-Indian MLA Derrick Fullinfaw accompanied the Chief Minister. Mr. Fullinfaw, who also heads the State BJP Minority Morcha, said, “The imaginary fears in some sections of the minority community over the BJP will disappear once they experience the performance of the B.S. Yeddyurappa Government.” He assured the Archbishop that he would take care of the interests of Christians and there should be no cause for any worry on that score. Before the meeting ended, the Archbishop said a prayer for the Chief Minister and the Government.
