Minister inaugurates water scheme

VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Housing Botcha Satyanarayana inaugurated purified water scheme that was constructed by Uppalapati Foundation at Cheepurupalli on Monday evening. On the occasion, he said that 12 litres of water would be supplied at Rs.1.50p and the amount was being collected for maintenance of the treatment plant and towards electricity charges.

The Minister said ‘intintiki kolai’ (tap connection for each house) scheme would be implemented at a cost of Rs.1 crore.

The panchayat and the Government would share the amount equally, he added.

He asked the residents to collect application forms from panchayat office at Rs.25.

Pink ration card-holders must pay Rs.3500 and white card-holders Rs.2000 for connection besides they must pay Rs.25 per month towards maintenance to the panchayat.

Tenders for execution of the work would be called shortly, he added.

Uppalapati Ramana Murty (Kanna Babu), MLA from Elamanchili, who was present, said the foundation would construct another purified plant at Garividi. Cheepurupalli MPP Bellana Sujatha, RESCO Chairman and MD Ponnad Venkataramana, SE(RWS) B.A. Raju and others were present.
