HASSAN: District Health and Family Welfare Officer Nagaraja Rao has said that three persons have died in the past one week of suspected cholera in Appihalli of Belur taluk. Speaking to The Hindu here on Tuesday, he said some of them had been suffering from asthma and jaundice. Stool samples sent to the laboratory for testing confirmed the incidence of cholera, he said and added that the village had been declared cholera-affected. Preventive steps were being taken to help avoid its spread. — Staff Correspondent
