Four players share top spot

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Four players shared the lead in the men’s section at the end of the third round of the 42nd LIC South Zone chess tournament here on Wednesday.

Rengarajan (Madurai), Augustine Thomas (Ernakulam), V. Rejith (Thiruvananthapuram) and P.O. Joy (Ernakulam) formed the leader pack with 2.5 points each.

In the women’s section, S. Jayaseeli (Coimbatore) was the sole leader at the end of the third round, maintaining a clean slate. B. Sumathy (Salem) and P.M. Beena (Kozhikode) were in the second spot with 2.5 points each.
