Lucknow: A Deputy Superintendent of Police posted at Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman, official sources said here on Wednesday. Shivbaran Singh was arrested from Pratapgarh district on Tuesday after the complaint by a woman accusing him of raping her was found to be prima facie true, they said. An inquiry was conducted into the complaint by the woman, a resident of village Prithviganj Bhagesara at Pratapgarh, accusing Singh of raping her on June 6, they said. After the charges were found to be prima facie true, an FIR was lodged on Tuesday and Singh was arrested, sources said.
