VIZIANAGARAM: Communist Party of India (Marxist) district secretary M. Krishna Murty on Wednesday demanded action against Botcha Lakshmana Rao, brother of Botcha Satyanarayana, Minister for Housing, as the joint survey conducted by Revenue and Municipal officials reportedly confirmed grabbing of government land to the extent of 225 square yards at Kanapaka, adjacent to the Collector’s office. Based on the survey report Mr. Lakshmana Rao vacated the land and began constructing compound wall as per the markings made by the officials to his site on Wednesday morning. At a press conference, Mr. Krishna Murty alleged that while levelling the site Mr. Lakshmana Rao closed a drinking water well, got the anganwadi centre shifted and used force to get the poor vacated. The CPI (M) leader said the land abutting the government land that Mr. Lakshmana Rao had reportedly purchased was entangled in legal dispute and demanded that the Government dug the well once again, relocate the poor and run the anganwadi centre at the same place. He said his party would file PIL.
