BANGALORE: A brain-mapping test was conducted on Krishna, Dr. Rajesh Talwar’s compounder, at the Forensic Science Laboratory here on Wednesday in connection with investigations into the murder of the Noida doctor’s teenaged daughter Aarushi and the family’s domestic help Hemraj. Krishna was brought here from New Delhi by a Central Bureau of Investigation team. The laboratory initially refused to conduct the test without any court order but the matter seemed to have been resolved after intervention at the highest level in the CBI. Staff Reporter in New Delhi adds: CBI Joint Director (Special Crime) Arun Kumar said Krishna had been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for scientific tests to rule out contradictions appearing in his statements. “Scientific tests are being conducted with his consent and as per various provisions of law,” said Mr. Arun Kumar, adding that the court had been informed. Mr. Arun Kumar said Krishna had earlier been subjected to a polygraph test at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in New Delhi on Monday and Tuesday. Soon after briefing the media at the CBI headquarters here, Mr. Arun Kumar left for Bangalore in the evening. While doubts were raised about the validity of the investigating agency’s attempt to subject Krishna to a narco-analysis test without prior permission from a court, CBI sources said since Krishna was technically not in CBI custody, prior permission was not required to conduct scientific tests on him. Following speculation that Krishna was emerging as a suspect in the double murder of Aarushi and Hemraj, his relatives came out in his support alleging that the CBI had kept him in illegal custody. They alleged that he was in the custody of the Noida police till June 2 and then the CBI picked him up on June 3. They said that on May 15 night, when Aarushi and Hemraj were murdered in Dr. Talwar’s Sector 25 house in Noida, Krishna was sleeping with them in their house and that they came to know about the incident the following morning. The relatives claimed that Krishna had no link whatsoever with the murders and he was innocent. Further, the family said that he had been working as an assistant to Dr. Talwar for the past two years and had got the job at the clinic at the instance of Vishnu, the dentist’s former domestic help. The relatives said they came to know through the media that Krishna had been taken to Bangalore for scientific tests.
