Scholarships distributed

CHENNAI: Members of the Carnatic Family Association distributed educational scholarships to deserving students of the Carnatic family, at its general body meeting held here on Tuesday.

The Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, patron-in-chief of the Association and head of the Carnatic family, distributed a sum of Rs.1.75 lakh to students from schools, colleges and technical institutions, ranging from Rs.1,000 to Rs.6,000. Nawab Jeelani Begum, mother of the Nawab and president of the Association, presided over the meeting. Mohammed Nayeem, general secretary, read out the annual report and treasurer G.M. Yahya presented the accounts.
