PRESSING A DEMAND: Students, parents and Dalit Panthers of India activists in front of the Government Girls Higher Secondary at Ondipudur on Wednesday.

Coimbatore: Traffic was briefly disrupted on Tiruchi Road, near Ondipudur, on Wednesday for nearly half-an-hour when students of the Ondipudur Government Girls Higher Secondary School, their parents and cadres of the Dalit Panthers of India resorted to a road blockade. The agitators demanded that the playground should be restored to students and questioned the grounds under which a private charitable trust was staking claims for ownership over the playground citing some court orders.
