Kidney scam accused appear in court
Ambala: All the nine accused in the kidney scam case, including main suspect Amit Kumar, on Wednesday appeared in a court here as CBI and defence counsels argued over whether a complaint filed in the case should be treated a charge-sheet.
The accused that also included Amit’s brother Jeevan, Sarj and K. K. Aggarwal appeared in the court of CBI magistrate Abdul Majid.
The CBI and the defence argued whether the complaint filed under Section 22 could be treated as a charge-sheet.
The court reserved the order on this matter for June 13.
Defence counsels Virender Sharma and Amit Gupta said the CBI had only filed a complaint under Section 22 that cannot be treated as a charge-sheet.
They also requested the court to grant stay on further proceeding of the complaint.
