Victims hail package

PATNA: Survivors of those killed in the Bhagalpur riots in 1989 on Thursday welcomed the decision of the United Progressive Alliance government to grant compensation to them and those injured in the frenzy. “What we lost was irreparable but the compensation will help us tide over our problem to some extent. We’ll never get back our kin but at least we’ll be in a position to survive in a better way.”
