Counselling for students held

Chittoor: Counselling for poor meritorious students who secured 500 marks and above in 10th class examination was held here under novel scheme PRAJVALIKA on Thursday. The counselling aims at securing them admission to intermediate class in reputed corporate colleges. This will be free of cost with donations received from philanthropists, government employees, business man and non governmental organizations. Speaking on the occasion District Collector Ravi Chandra told that 500 poor meritorious students will be admitted to the selected 10 popular colleges. So far Rs.7 lakh was received from the philanthropists, employees and NGOs. He said that he expects more contributions from these sectors.
