Narrow win for V. Ramana CC

SALEM: V. Ramana Cricket Club scored a three-wicket win over Vampire CC in the Canara Bank-SDCA first division league at the SSP grounds here recently.

The scores: First division: Vampire CC 176 in 40 overs (S. Sathiya Moorthy 50, K. Lakshmanan 50, Eswaran four for 27) lost to V. Ramana CC 177 for seven in 32.5 overs (Eswaran 68).

Second division: Eagles Eye CC 178 for six in 23 overs (M. Deepan Chakravarthi 84, Lavan four for 40) bt Sunil CC 99 in 23 overs.

Salvo CC 76 in 42 overs lost to Students Jr. CC 77 for no loss in 9.1 overs.

Third division: Parks XI CC 141 in 42 overs (S.M. Manikandan six for 13) lost to Talented CC 143 for three in 14.3 overs (A. Prabhu 50, S.M. Manikandan 44).

CDCA’s distinction

At Coimbatore, the district cricket association will celebrate its 50th annual day at the Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam, on June 20. W.V. Raman, former Test cricketer will be the chief guest.
