Summer fete in Jamunamarudhur

TIRUVANNAMALAI: A multi-departmental exhibition highlighting the achievements of the government, flower show, music programmes, cultural programmes, ‘karagattam,’ ‘mayilattam,’ ‘oyilattam,’ healthy baby contest, marathon, ‘kolam’ competition, medical camp and veterinary camp would be the highlights of the summer festival to be organised in Jamunamarudhur in Javvadhu Hills, Tiruvannamalai district, on June 28 and 29.
Food Minister E.V. Velu would inaugurate the festival and distribute welfare aids to beneficiaries on June 28. Suba Thangavelan, Minister for Slum Clearance and Accommodation Control, would distribute prizes to the best stalls at the valedictory function on June 29.
Special buses would be arranged from different places for the public to take part in the festival.
