Increase in number of seats at ITIs

PUDUCHERRY: Following the recommendations from the National Council for Vocational Training to give more scope for training in vocational trades, the government will increase the number of seats in government and private Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) in the Union Territory. According to a release, 30 per cent of the sanctioned strength of trades both in engineering and non-engineering trades has been increased from the session starting in August.

The increase in the sanctioned strength of students was 1,784 seats and there would be an addition of 535 seats from the ensuing year.
