BANGALORE: Go Kiss the World: Life Lessons for the Young Professional, authored by MindTree co-founder Subroto Bagchi, was launched at the Crossword store on Residency Road in the city on Thursday. The function was also attended by noted playwright Girish Karnad and Sudha Murthy, wife of Infosys mentor N. Narayana Murthy, and Penguin India chief Mike Bryan. Mr. Bryan talked about Penguin’s association with Mr. Bagchi and hoped that this book would also top the bestsellers’ list like his first one.

Mr. Bagchi said that the book was not an autobiographical account, though it had instances from his life in it. This was meant to provide certain lessons to young professionals. He said, “I started as a lower division clerk in an obscure government firm. I remained a professional for nearly 30 years. It was only in the last 10 years that I became an entrepreneur. This book probes the values and lessons I learnt in my professional career.” He added, “I hope these books are translated into regional languages also. It will ensure that the message of the book reaches the youth of small-town India also.”

The highlight of the evening was the book-reading session, where Mr. Bagchi enthralled the audience with an elaborate and fun-filled session. He regaled the audience with anecdotes about his earlier bosses. He read out select passages from the book relating to his days as a child growing up in an obscure Orissa hamlet.
