KARAIKUDI: Alagappa University plans to create facilities on an outlay of Rs. 23 crore. Vice-Chancellor P. A 10-floor building with modern facilities for teaching, research and laboratory facilities would be constructed. The State Government had given its consent for the proposal. It would be constructed by utilising funds from the Department of Distance Education and other sources. Foundation stone would be laid for the project soon. The Department of Oceanography and Coast Studies would be developed at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh. First floor over the existing building would be constructed. All facilities at the campus in Thondi would be created.
